those are just two really good things that you're randomly eating together, they're never actually paired on any menu. I can't think of a soup/sandwich combo besides tomato/grilled cheese though. Maybe french dip sandwich and au jus? au jus technically isn't soup I guess but it's close enough to a french onion soup

>> No.8217051

While it's not a sandwich, chili and cornbread is GOAT

A McChicken with any kind of soup.
It's the most versatile of fast food sandwiches.

>> No.8217113

>>8217050

Yeah but I can see the flavors working well together even though I've never had it. Maybe use the au jus as the beef stock for the french onion soup? Would that even work? Maybe just dip it in both? I've dipped french dips in horseradish sauce and au jus. Why not au jus and french onion soup?

>> No.8217151

just call its jus ffs, au means with in french.

Anyway I have had a similar sandwich. Lunch at a steakhouse was yesterdays prime rib cooked in jus and topped with grilled onions and gruyere, served with french onion soup on the side, it was pretty good.

Bacon goes with clam chowder like beans go with rice.

bacon goes well with plenty more than just clam chowder. doesn't mean it's a classic pairing
