Gyro places have been caving to the whole-multitude-of-mediterranean religions for a while now. Finding a good greek restaurant with christian ownership and use of pork in the gyro meat mixture is harder and harder every year. I guess the immigrants are just the other types opening the restaurant, or it's just not a good business model anymore for attracting the most clientele.

I love shwarma, and all things isreali, lebanese, and fresh, even vegan things. I love the marinated salads, fresh vegetables, and I want my tzatziki to be fresh dairy, cucumber, yogurt, and maybe some dill or parsley. I want the gyro on grilled bread, fresh, not from a spongey plastic bag. I like cucumber, onions, tomatoes, and not lettuce. Extra tzatziki.

But doner kebab? Lousy meat. Tomato sauce that might as well be ketchup. It's utterly low tier, and misses the point of fresh foods grown in regions where vegetables actually grow, as well as herbs. I'd understand if it was afghani, but it's not, it's turkish. Or the horrific canadian version? Oh the horror, sugary canned sweetened condensed milk based topping? *gag* The reason you all eat that crap in europe and canada is you never lived long enough to know fresh ingredients and proper greek restaurants. They invented the vertical spit first. And you certainly don't know the lengthy history of greek run diner food in America. Opa!
