My school used to have a soup day, where they would just collect the random leftovers from throughout the week and throw them into a soup as the only menu item. It didn't matter what was leftover either. If you were lucky they had some turkey and leftover carrots/corn/veggies, unlucky and you got french fry hamburger soup. They also never shelled out for cups to serve it in, they literally just ladled it into the sections of the styrofoam trays they served everything else in.

Highschool lunch was us was literally a 1 dollar double cheeseburger from McDonalds(wrapper and all) and half of a handful of budget crinklecut fries. They charged 3 bucks.

My school was out of town so it was closed campus for lunch. We had a Subway line, pizza/Italian line, burger line, and homecooking line that always varied. Only paid 40 cents for my meals and usually got a good meal and filled up a french fry box full of strawberries, broccoli, and carrots and a juice box to snack on the rest of the day. I made the most of my $2/week for food

My school district is an independent one and since they dont follow federal guidelines for grant money they make whatever. Its actually pretty good (fast food tier good but its better than the op). The difference is they charge a niggerload for it. Chicken sandwoches, pizza, tendies, mozzarella sticks, cookies, muffins, iced coffee, burgers, nachos, etc in addition to the standard peasant line. The pumps themselves are about $20, though that assumes you have the proper size jug to attach them to. Also they're pretty fragile. I can't imagine them lasting very long with a bunch of kids fucking with them.
