A certain level of bitterness is an acquired taste and usually that taste is acquired later in life. What your comment tells me is that either you have an unrefined palate or you're an actual child.

Calling dark chocolate hipster food and "bitter and shitty" is no different than saying olives, or greens, or coffee are bitter and shitty.
