I just buy the king or snow crab bunches from wegmans that are pre cooked (not frozen) then you just gotta steam them for like 3 - 5 minutes. Although the frozen bunches have pretty much the same taste, just have to rinse them first then steam them for longer, like 10 - 12 mins.

I don't like cooking them from live, can't kill things.

Shut the fuck up. Have you visited every country? But you know they exist? Of all the olives I have eaten, I have not liked them. I do not have to search out every kind of olive to make the statement "I don't like olives" because if that were the case then any statement of opinion could be countered by "but have u tried dis 1????"""

It's called extrapolation you dumb fat clappy american fuck literally fucking kill yourself.

A bit too late, but let me chime in with my experience with lobsters.

I buy a live lobster for myself occasionally, and what I do is stick it in a steaming pot, turn on the stove, and wait until it's nice and red and ready to eat. For the first few times, I was squeamish about putting a lobster into what is essentially a death trap and killing it, slowly, with increasingly scalding water vapors. It was taking away a life, and I don't even grant it a quick and easy death. You start to feel a pang of conscience when you stare into the lobster's unfeeling eyes, oblivious to its impending demise.

It quickly got easier, though. When you have lobster often enough, whatever guilt you feel from steaming a lobster alive is overridden by your appetite for its claw meat and innards. Now, I have times when I slowly watch the lobster cook through the glass pot lid like a James Bond villain, making sure that it doesn't curl up and makes the heat distribute unevenly.

>> No.8083212

>>8083183
Put the live shellfish in the freezer for like 15 min, they will basically shut down and "go to sleep" if you will
Then when you take them out and plunge them into boiling water to steal their souls, they wont scream in unbearable pain
if you dont want the lobster tail to curl stick a bamboo skewer up its ass

>> No.8083228

The banana is probably around 150, 80 for the egg (slightly more if it's fried), and 80 for the slice of bread.

That looks like around 50 or 60g of mushrooms which would be 13 calories if they had been steamed. However, the sheen suggests fat was involved. So, maybe around 20 or 25 calories; they don't absorb that much fat.

Yeah, 330 calories or slightly more. I'm impressed.

Depends on the desired flavor and intensity I am aiming for. I just cut unpeeled potatoes in the shapes you see, place it into a bowl, then top it off with a bit of olive oil, pepper salt and some spices, again, depending on the desired flavor. Then stir it with hands, I put the olive oil in there beforehand to make all the ingredients stick to them and not fall off. Then, I just get out the baking tray, put a baking paper underneath it, throw it all out and bake for about 15-25 minutes, depending on the type of oven I am using. Also, I flip them around 3-4 times during the baking in order to make them evenly baked.

I am always taking out one potato to eat through whole baking process in order to make them just right, they taste shitty when they are under cooked or overcooked and dry.

Render some pancetta in a pan to extract the fats. Halve your brussel sprouts and cook them in the fat until they begin to soften. When soft, put them in a large bowl and mix with melted butter, olive oil, garlic and lemon juice. Put them in the oven on 400F until roasted and serve topped with fresh parmesan reggiano.

Hey, that's my plate you're talking about and this is my first reply to you.
I really do appreciate the advice and I do understand the merrits of better nutrition in eating the skin, and that's why I'll endeavor to eat more carrot skins in the future. Purely for the nutritional benefits and not because of any visual appeal. I eat pumpkin skins so I don't even know why I peel carrots, to be desu. Just a habit.
But boiled potato skins are horrible so into the trash they go.

Also, there's salt on everything that you see on the plate and vinegar on the spinach and carrots, so it wasn't as bland as it may look. I even licked the plate! True story.

But thanx again for the advice. My temple is grateful.

There's so much good shit in this thread I feel the need to balance it out with my own sorry business.

Chicken was marinated in an italian spice blend and olive oil with some diced onion and fried before being baked. Put it in some "Pain Rustique" from TJ's, along with some pesto. Tea was Blueberry/Acai/Green Tea I think.
