Peggy Scott's just up the road at Finavon services is where its at for good coffee and cake nigga. I was working in Aberdeenshire for a few months commuting from Edinburgh. Always gotta stop at Peggys.

There's this little place down the street from where I work. I forget the name exactly (I think it's called Nicos), but they serve a ton of quick grub for super cheap. I got a cheeseburger sub that was about 14" long for like 7$. Kept me full almost the whole day, and was fucking dank to boot. Also they do a fried fish dinner which is 9$, comes with 4 big ass pieces of fish and 2 sides, was similarly dank. Breakfast sandwiches are 3-4$ and pretty big.

It's a small place, so I always shoot the shit with the owner, who man's the register and cooks a bit, though his wife who works there with him handles most of the cooking. Apparently his father opened the place in the 1960s and it's still there, surprising considering it's in DC. I hope little places like this don't fall by the wayside any time soon.

When I lived in NY the best greasy spoons were always diners. I miss those.

Theres a place in toronto called Vesta Lunch, you can get a cheeseburger for 4 dollars and fries for 3, which for this city is absurdly cheap.

The only time its good though is when the old polish guy is working, and for some reason he speaks 9 different languages.

Haven't been by in a few years but dat burger was actually amazing when he made it, absolute trash when anyone else did.

This is the place where I ate the bologna sandwich. Called The Soda Shop. Been around since the 40s. They also do great shakes and floats and are known locally for their pimento cheese burger.

At the crossroads of Sr 96 and highway 247 in Georgia, there is a place called "White Diamond BBQ" and it is good. Burgers, Sandwiches, and Pulled Pork.
It's not the best ever, but it was established in 1949, so everyone knows it.

There's a place 1 or 2 miles from where I grew up. It's in an old trailer. Used to be open 24 hours but a few years ago started to close at night.
There's a bench out front called the Liar's Bench and there's always a bunch of old folk sitting there talking bullshit.
Good greasy food and the pies/cakes are homemade. My favorite - Hot rounds.
Burgers are Krystal-style small but better.

This place is right up the street from the new courthouse, which I get called to for jury duty EVERY three years, without fail. I always grab breakfast/lunch here during break. I'd kill for some pancakes and a coffee milk right now, god damn.

Used to go to pic related, which is a local landmark that has been in business since the beginning of time. It recently got revamped by a new owner who tried to make it a bit more upscale. Service got super slow as a result, and the food wasn't good enough to warrant it, in my opinion. Haven't been in a long time, but they're still in business, so I guess they're doing something right.
