It pretty much does though. Dietary fat goes to fat cells and has the highest calorie density, smallest satiety per calorie and is incredibly easy to overeat. You know that adipose tissue is composed of the fat that people have been eating, yes? There aren't any obese people whose fat cells are full of fat synthesized de novo, in fact there have been a couple studies done on this question and they found that fat people were even less adept at synthesizing fatty acids than lean people.
