That steak if perfectly safe medium rare and rare. Rare does not mean RAW it means cooked 2 shades of grey on the outside. If the meat was properly stored its fine because the heat is enough to kill of any bacteria that may have survived proper storage. The longer you cook the steak the more the meat becomes harder to chew. If you like your meat well done order a really good cut to start with. If they still judge you then just run away.

That's highly dependent on the cut. Some cuts of beef are best cooked medium well, some need to be braised for hours. Some have long fibers, some have short fibres. Some have a lot of fat, some don't. Some have a lot of connective tissue, some don't.

When people flip their shit about "muh blue rare" I can tell that they're used to only eating tenderloin, the plebbest of the pleb cuts.

Actively try not to use more dishes than necessary and reuse a few times whenever possible, unless I have company. Saves a fuck ton of time and money. My bottle of detergent is going two years strong and barely half used, despite cooking and eating at home most of the time.
