Every Friday I order a large thin crust cheese pizza with spicy sauce from Mazzio's, and rent a movie on Amazon Prime unless there's one on Netflix or HBO Go that I want to watch. Before I pick the pizza up, I go to the gas station and get a fountain drink. Typically a 44 oz. Diet Pepsi. There's a button you can push that adds cherry flavor. Then I grab a bag of sour skittles, too.

Pretty good way to end the week and start the weekend, and all for under $25. Let's see...

pizza $14
fountain drink $1 (a dollar all summer)
sour skittles 2/$1 (current sale)
movie $2.99-5.99 (possibly free)

That's $22, worst case scenario. Not a bad price to be happy.

My favourite would be smoked mackerel, smoked salmon, spinach and mozzarella on a tomato base - with a lemon on the side
When ordering out the usual 'meat-feast' style suits me well, either tomato or barbeque bases.

Keep in mind there are a lot of varieties of pizza here. Pan crust, thin crust, hand tossed, stuffed crust, personal-sized pizzas, 18 inch pizzas and larger, pizza delivery, pizza buffet, take 'n bake pizzas, hot 'n ready pizzas, pizza by the slice, frozen pizza, deep fried pizza, pizza burritos, french bread pizza, pizza-flavored snacks, and, of course, Neapolitan-style pizza baked in Italian-made brick ovens using imported flour, tomatoes, and Buffalo mozzarella from Italy. The list goes on and on. We haven't even discussed toppings.

You can get a slice of pizza for $1. You can also find frozen pizzas for $1. Hot 'n ready pizzas for $5. Chains like Pizza Hut and Mazzio's do tend to be a little more expensive.

I call up this local pizza place in downtown. It's a little far from home, but I don't mind.

I order a pizza with chicken, bacon , and pesto replacing the sauce. Tastes absolutely great, and the place makes such massive pizzas that I'll have leftovers for a day or two. This is usually paired up with whatever drink I find interesting at the gas station.

After this, I browse /an/ and /ck/ while eating pizza and joining a nightly game session where my friends and I play whatever we can agree on. This takes 10 or so minutes, so I have enough time to eat pizza and store it for later.

Setting aside the 'go'za meme, isn't this an impractical way to "build" the ingredients into a pizza?

It's the same ingredients of traditional pizza, but enlarged and with the sauce on top of the cheese, with much more cheese than typical pizza. So it seems like there's no flavor improvement (because it's the same ingredients), but it's much messier and less wieldy. Thus, it seems pointless or even stupid. I would assume though that the cheese and sauce are cooked a bit differently since they are exposed to the heat in different positions from a normal pizza, which could either improve or hurt the flavor.

Any 'za aficionados have answers to these questions?

By which I mean grocery store frozen pizza with extra ketchup and cheese on top. sometimes ham if I feel adventurous.

it kind of fills the gap between 'go 'za and dry-crust local garbage and it costs £1 + toppings. £3.50 for a block of cheese that makes as many 'zas as i need it to, ketchup is just good to have, and ham is like that reconstituted ham slice stuff is about £2 for 400g. I could get better ham for £3, but you get way less ham in those packs.

so far i've found sandwich meat to be good for pizza - turkey, chicken, ham, whatever you like. must try roast beef on a pizza sometime, that could be good. Throw on some spices.

Came here to post this, I always get the yiros/kebab pizza, spiced lamb, onion, tomato, cheese and plenty of garlic sauce. Arr these common in the states I think most pizza joints in Australia have them.

So i've been making these pizza rollish type things for years, and don't really know what to call it, is it a calzone?
Is it just a better hotpocket?

this has layers of the crust through the whole thing instead of just being like, a closed pizza taco

Does this already have a name?
It's getting annoying having to just say, pizzaish rollish type things

Red pepper
Mushroom
pineapple
chicken
ADDITIONALS IF FEELING GENEROUS:
Blue cheese or teriyaki sauce

And of course with oregano

And to add: Thin crust, tomato base and a bit of parm cheese on top. Sometimes rucola leaves on top too.
