soup is effectively just dirty water. hardly a 'food' at all. that said, what some refer to as 'stew', is in actuality a Chicago Style Deep Dish Soup; 'stew' is a codified and culturally pervasive term in the modern lexicon, but what it really is, stew, is Chicago Style Deep Dish Soup, or 'go 'so.
