Been a near complete shut-in for 6~ years now due to mental illness, had a mental break last year where I completely gave up, stopped taking meds, and now I'm at the tail end of things. House I was living in became completely unlivable due to hoarding (I added to it, didn't start it), which led to a pretty severe mouse infestation and my hot water heater blowing up (spreading black mold everywhere, melting dry wall, etc).

No one I know can afford to clothe, feed, or house me when I have literally zero income of my own. Waiting on some sort of response from the government (SSI appeal, aka NEETbux) or for one of the other agencies to get back to me about any form of assistance. Outpatient mental care has months long waiting lists, adult protection service ignored 4 of my reports on myself (despite being clearly unable to care for myself), and there aren't many male homeless shelters in the area. Not that I really want to go to one, or even to a soup kitchen, because I have a single set of clothes that I've been wearing without washing for three months now and without a shower either. And I wouldn't really feel comfortable around that many people at a time.

Honestly, though, living in the car isn't that bad this time of year. Even with my driver's side window stuck semi-open/out of alignment, it's at least 37F~ during the night and 65F~ during the day. It has varied a bit recently, but at least it won't last long. Can always strip blankets/clothes as needed.

You found me out, I really wanted to find myself in bed for a week or so once in awhile to really get into that authentic suicidal mood. As far as I know, the 24 hour gyms in the area have an interview and some even do a credit check. But I'll definitely be getting into one of the nationwides if I get through on the benefits, so I can shower and work out at the very least. Section 8 housing has a years long waiting list here, and even then they prioritize families, then elderly, and then disabled. Currently in the appeals process for SSI, but it's not easy to get approved for mental illness as far as I can tell. Still will take about a year to get a hearing in if necessary.

As far as SNAP food benefits, I'll apply for that once I hear back from the programs I've already applied for. Or I might do it tomorrow and overlap, assuming that I'll get denied for the other programs in the area. Honestly don't know.
