Back in culinary I took baking for fun and I was honestly the only guy in a class of 40.
Granted I sucked ass because i didnt know shit about baking and i just eyed everything.

I don't even enjoy eating those though so I'm probably never going to take the effort to make them outside a couple of occasions

Both of my parents worked. Out of 4 kids I'm the oldest. My mom and dad both taught me cooking and baking when I was young because I showed interest in it. By the time I was 16 I was making dinner for the family at least 4 nights a week.

I'd get home from school and there would be meat thawing and a note telling me what they wanted me to make.

I still cook and bake all the time.
