I have the shittiest burger king location known to man near me that is still open. It hasn't changed face and is almost always filthy inside yet it has never been shut down. For some reason, people pay for shitty takes on okay fast food. It would be cool to see more hot dogs in fast food but I will say that Sonic probably does it better.

What is with Burger King and their shitty locations? I haven't been to a decent burger king since 2012.

Burger King is very inconsistent depending on location. My closest one is immaculate and the food is picture perfect and always delicious. But I've been to some that were filthy, had dust and trash everywhere, cold bad food and slopped together looking like a nigger punted it.

I only tried the classic one. They fucking heaped the condiments on, let me tell. It was tough to get a taste of the hot dog. From what I did get, it seemed like a pretty middling hot dog. Bun wasn't that great either. 4/10 in BK terms.

I thought I'd follow the shills advice and get two hot dogs. Worst $5 I've ever spent on food.

The relish was sickeningly sweet, so much so that it overpowered the rest of it. All I really tasted was relish and hot dog, with a bit of onion.

The chili cheese dog was better but still meh. The chili was meh, and the whole thing was about as salty as I am right now.

I tried the chili dog and I thought it wasn't too bad. A lot of similarities with dairy queen, which i like. What made it memorable was the "grill mark" bullshit. I have a suspicion that the bk skidmarks on burgers and hot dogs is probably some chemical that is applied with a big felt tip pen, but I like the taste either way.

All in all, this item will fail in the long run if the current prices are the "getting acquainted" prices.

I guess the concept of flame broiled food confuses you? To answer your question; No, they aren't fake. Source: Many years ago I worked at a BK. The frozen pucks of meat are fairly uniform in color, without grill marks. But by the magic of flames and a chain-like conveyor belt inside of a gas powered broiler, they come out the other side hot and with marks.

Grease ball fast food places tend to evolve towards doing everything on the cheap. I wouldn't put it pay them to paint liquid smoke to save $0.03.
