Gluten is often used in imitation meats (such as this mock "duck") to provide supplemental protein and variety in vegetarian diets.

seitan is pretty baller. Easy to make at home unlike tofu or tempeh.

I eat this stuff semi-regularly and yeah, this is a terrible photo of something that can actually be really delicious.

It's cheap protein if you have access to a frypan- $1.20AUD (83c USD it seems). Marinate it in a bit of hoisin sauce, soy sauce, bit of sesame oil. Can add some extra fresh ginger/garlic and some vinegar if you want to as well. Really good in sandwiches, stir frys, etc.

I know people like you fetishize continuous farting, but most people with gluten intolerance prefer to avoid unnecessary discomfort like that.

I enjoy the hell out of seitan. It's got such a nice chewy but uniform texture. Not too fibrous like chicken can be.

I can eat as much gluten as I like. It really debilitates my grandmother, however.

Please stop being stupid. I'm tired of people whose mindset stops when others suggest something that was not in the general awareness thirty years ago.
