Axiomatic vodka. There's better more expensive vodka, and worse-smelling cheaper vodka, but Russkiy Standart is dead center in terms of quality. It's neither great nor terrible, but often overpriced if you're not careful.

If you want nice vodka then get Polish like Chopin.

Also good advice. I'm usually against flavored vodkas, I just have always thought they were repulsive as fuck. However, New Amsterdam seems to be OK in this department. I've had their pineapple, peach and coconut. All three not bad for the price.

One time I bought a bottle of the peach and it smelled and tasted like a fuckin skunk had been distilled with it. Not sure what that was about but I can't do the peach anymore.

It's great. For a while me and my roommate were splitting handles or vodka and we'd try new ones each time. We did this one after the 7th bottle and noted that it tasted just as good as kettle one or grey goose. It was the cheapest so it gets bought the most often, looks ugly though

I've drank all four kinds of Russian Standard (regular, platinum, gold, and imperia) and I can say, honestly, stolichnaya is better in every regard from cost to taste.

I was most disappointed with Imperia. I expected it to be a lot better than it was, but I found it to be worse than Platinum or Gold as far as general mouthfeel and taste.

>Why would you drink vodka?
this a pretty good question

vodka is the utility neutral spirit, the whole point in todays age is to spike something with some alcohol without disrupting the other flavors in the cocktail too much. With the advent of flavored vodkas being as wide spread as they are, there really isn't any reason to continue drinking the regular kind.

I prefer moonshine in all regards though, much better flavor
