Cheapest beef you can get, cut it up into small cubes, brown it with chopped up spicy sausages. Celery, carrots, onions, and garlic are your veggies, put them into a slow-cooker first with some oil to soften them up. Then add your meat and pour in beer and/or some kind of stock (veggie/chicken/beef I prefer beef) and let it cook for like I dunno 6 hours or whatever, overnight is usually what I do. I've used dried cherries and dried cranberries instead of raisins in my oatmeal cookies before, angry Anon. Both were substantially better than raisins.

I'd imagine if you could get dried peaches/blueberries/strawberries and chop them up finely, then put that thin milk icing on the finished cookies, it would evoke fruit and cream oatmeal, which are of course the best flavor(s) of oatmeal.

Hmm. I've given myself something to think about for my next baking project.

I made oatmeal cookies with peaches.
I simply cut the peaches and let them soak in a water/sugar solution for a half an hour, took them out and patted dry, tossed in a bit of flour to keep the color from bleeding into the dough and gently folded in.
5 minutes from the end I sprinkled a simple brown sugar/butter crumble topping on them and finished baking.
the peach cobbler cookies were definitely the first to go from all the varieties I made that day.

Acid based marinades are fine but you only want them on the meat for about an hour or so. Doing it overnight, say putting lemon slices on steel head trout will kind of pickle or cure the meat when left on for a long period of time which affects taste. I would recommend putting an acid based marinade as the first part of cooking the meal, so it has time to soak when you start on the other parts of the meal but it doesn't go overboard.
