Someone wanna post this on social media, wallmart trying to sell this and act as if someones getting a deal.

>> No.6991913

>>6991893

I'm sure it's Wal Mart as a whole and not just a bunch of lazy minimum wagers who don't give a shit.

So is the meat actually spoiled or just exposed to air?

Exposed to air, probably leaky sealing

Wouldn't buy it regardless

Walmart actually has grassfed beef (not in this picture). Surprised me too.

Would this actually be okay to eat though? I've always wondered. If you bought something on sale and cooked it that night, would it be okay?

>> No.6992319

>>6992309
I buy meat like that all the time, although I usually won't buy it unless it's atleast 50% off.

Id buy it and then throw it into the crock pot overnight, make pulled italian beef sandwiches with it.

Its not like itll hurt you

a few years back every meat looked like that.. that's before high-oxygen injection in packages made people think that meat had to be red to be safe... it's not good for the quality of the meat BTW, it make it tougher...

>implying you can't cook the whole thing then refrigerate/freeze what you don't eat.
after it's cooked you got a few extra days of shelf life

>> No.6992794

>>6992309
theres nothing wrong with it aside from the oxidation which just affects color.

they cant sell you shit that went bad because you could easily sue them

>> No.6992803

There is literally nothing wrong with this.

To an ons saying the seal is broken, it's not. Meat hoes brown inside the package. Haemoglobin oxidises. Usually it goes full brown the day before the sell by date and a couple of days before it is unsafe to consume.

That's why it's reduced.

Unless you can physically see mold or slime, a sight test isn't enough to go by if it's safe.

The only time you should be irate is of:
A. It's on the shelf past sell by date
B. Moldy
C. It smells
D. Brown/near use by without being reduced.

Regarding B and C, I wouldn't be too irate. People doing reductions are just looking at the use by date. If they miss a visual or olfactory cue signalling bad meat it's not their fault. The seal probably broke. They're looking at the date.

>> No.6992814

I don't know why you retards are saying it's okay to eat brown meat. I've tried it before and it tastes bad. It wasn't even that far beyond the sell by date but as soon as meat is brown the taste is bad as far as I'm concerned

It's fine if you are going to do something like a raost/stew or pulled meat etc... something where the meat isn't the main attraction.

Using it for something like steak would be bad.

anyone remembers the name of the yt channel?

>> No.6992874

That is what meat looks like before they colour it bright red, sometimes you get one or some of one that doesn't get coloured,

it's fine unless it stinks,

That's not a big deal you dumb autist, stop trying to be sensationalist. They mark down meat that's a day or two before expiration all the time.

You do realize that the package is sealed and there is no way you can check all of that ?
But I'm not that surprised. People who are long enough here will remember the roadkill threads.
