Stir fry, especially special fried rice, has to be the easiest food that looks kind of impressive while you're cooking it and tastes great 90% of the time. If you have a big saucepan (for the rice) and a big frying pan or wok, you're sorted.

Boil rice (easy cook will do for a beginner). Drain, cover and refrigerate. 6-12 hours later, prep some veg, beat a couple of eggs in a bowl and line up your flavours (soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, chili). Slice some bacon into thumbnail sizes and fry it up with sliced mushroom, add chopped onion and rice, sliced peppers, parboiled carrot, whatever.

For the egg, just move the food to one side of the pan and scramble the beaten egg in that space before mixing it with the rest. The flavours (and peas if you're including them) go on there right at the end before one last mix and serving. Don't forget your Wa La.

You can use Ramen-style noodles (boiled and drained) instead of the rice if you want. It would be quicker and easier but not quite as impressive.

I've also heard Carbonara is very easy and impresses the ladies no end, but I haven't tried cooking it myself. Might be worth checking out though.

This is my honest advice, don't fucking bother.

My gf is actually a decent cook, according to the internet this is a rare thing today.

I am obviously a fan of cooking since I'm here, and I am decent. Cooked for her of course, she loves it. This is bad, has requested many times for me to cook things she loves that "I do better". Well I don't want to all the time. Maybe I am better at it but she has more energy for it, I will save it for special occasions and manning a grill in the summer, I dont want to make my "perfect pancakes" every god damn craving.

Unless you just cant make anything, in which I would encourage you to learn something, dont try hard, playing dumb is fine,or just make meals together and divide tasks, you dont want to be the best cook in the house if you have to devote a lot of time to things like a job or education for example when you have a gf and she has more time to work on these things.

my thoughts at least, some men may take pride from such a thing if their gf or wife want their cooking all the time. I like to get experimental some times and I have no problem doing certain things, but fuck being held up as the cook of the place.

What I read here is disappointing. I'm a girl and I can actually cook, but just because I can, doesn't mean I want to every fucking day. I started cooking every day when I was 15. It sucks. It takes up quite a lot of time to prepare a decent meal and you know what is sexy for many women? When men help in the kitchen or cook for you. If you cook for her, good sex guaranteed.
Just don't be a fucking prick, dick, chauvinist about it. If you think it is hard and annoying to cook, why should she do it? What makes you think that she does not find it hard and annoying?
And let me guess, you also let her do the laundry, clean, cook, bring you beer and work. What kind of fucking equality is that?
