So do I. Is that supposed to be a big deal?

No you don't. You just increased the labor per meal beyond what you grew up taking for granted. That's not "from scratch" it just means you play with your food more before eating it.

I grind my own fucking flour. Hard to get more from scratch than that.

If not at least 50% of your meals aren't made from scratch, then you are not an adult.

>> No.6803827

>>6803786
And where did you get the flour mill? Did you smelt it yourself from tamahagane? I rather doubt that.

You buyfags are the worst, you think Williams-Sonoma has made you into some kind of rugged independent man whereas you'd shrivel and die if not for your local strip mall giving you goods to buy.

Do I have to make everything from scratch?
If I'm making a Kidney and ale pie,do I have to make the puff pastry myself?

>And where did you get the flour mill?
Wife bought it online. It attaches to electric mixer.
>You buyfags are the worst
My consumerism is pretty low key. I don't buy flashy shit, just stuff that allows me to turn raw ingredients into food in my own kitchen. You know the kind of wholegrain organic sourdough bread richfags pay $6 or more for a loaf of at fancy bakeries and farmers' markets? I can turn that out in my kitchen for about 60 cents a loaf. So the grain mill has paid for itself several times over.

And the fucking pressure cooker has been worth its weight in gold for cooking dried beans over the last few years.

I do this shit so I can eat well on a modest budget, not because I like buying shit. I'm a cheap bastard.

If you want to say you made it yourself then yes.

If you want to truthfully say you made it from scratch you'd have to raise and butcher your own cattle, make your own butter, grow your own wheat and mill it into your own flour, grow your own veg, make your own salt etc
