https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/2sdkyv/eli5_why_are_the_ceilings_in_so_many_grocery/

In essence it was about people liking high ceilings and there being space to put up ads or promotions, I don't know if you'll buy it but I myself do like high ceilings they look cool and make the place feel spacious.

If you go for fresh, you will never be dissappointed. A handful of times I was displeased by some proccessed garbage food being less than stellar (or more times than not, just stale before the "best by" date), but they have GOAT fresh fruit and veggies and meat.

$0.85 for a loaf of bread, $0.55-0.75 on sale. Local Publix or Winn-dixie is $2-$1.50 for the same bread with more corn syrup.

>English English grammar and American English grammar is the same, save for "the hopital" vs "hospital".
Confirmed for knowing nothing about English grammar. Read a book, or at least this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_American_and_British_English#Grammar

Stranded prepositions are common and natural in many Germanic Languages, including English. The proscription against their use started in the 17th century by elitist faggots who probably wanted to make English more like French and Latin (which were cool to them), in which stranded prepositions are not used. Same thing with the "rule" against split infinitives. (in French and Latin, infinitive forms of verbs are one word so it is impossible to split them)

Thoroughly decent.

I live in San Gabriel, so my selection of western-style supermarkets is extremely limited (chink stores don't have the selection of produce/staples I "expect").

Smart & Final is mediocre; fine if you want something they carry, but their selection on certain things is miserable (and they never have competitive prices on soda, my one real sin staple). It's clean, well lit, and has flexible hours, so that's a step up from many stores at least.

Super A Foods is pretty good; Mexican supermarket, but more clean and with a more American selection than most of those. Their produce isn't the best, but isn't in the "goes bad in 2 days" category like chinese markets.

They have a very good hot prepared food bar; had chile relleno for dinner and it was good.

"Post the grocery store you shop." is not. You don't shop a grocery store (unless you're talking about reporting it to an authority).

The greatest. High quality house brands (frequently with no artificial bullshit or preservatives), great selection, good and fairly priced pre-made food. Local produce. They treat their workers excellently.

Grossout is based for some stuff but I'd never do all my shopping there unless I was dirt poor. They usually have good deals on organic chicken and almond butter. The wine is insanely priced but hit or miss. A lot of it is already turned.
