How do I make homemade gatorade?

I'm tired of paying for water with sugar and salt, especially when it's got stuff like blue dye that turns your poop green if you drink too much. The only flavor I like is "Glacier Freeze", but I don't even know where to begin with that.

water, salt, sugar, ice from a glacier (although any frost will make for an acceptable substitute), blue food coloring.
that's it.

>> No.6751891

just buy the big tubs of powdered gatorade. they cost like 6 dollars and last forever.

....are you trying to get electrolytes

if so, just drink tomato juice. like 17% DV potassium and 25% DV sodium. leagues above gatorade in electrolyte replenishment.

or if you want something sweeter, coconut water. as much potassium as tomato juice (not sodium tho) and ultimately still better for you than gatorade

Orange & Lemon-Lime are the only correct answers.

Perfect for when you have a stomach bug, and can't eat anything.

I know you offered a sweet option but this is killing me.

but why, the purpose of sports drinks is SUPPOSED to be to replenish lost electrolytes but gatorade and powerade contain negligible amounts of potassium and sodium. if you really need to re-balance before your heart gives out on you, tomato juice is extremely effective, cheap and low in calories.

Oh I agree. Gatorade is a shit imo. Your suggestion is like, what's a good drink similar to vodka redbull? Try an old fashioned!
It's a better option, just completely different from what OP is trying to drink. It's 5am I don't know

How about with the ingredients listed?
Gatorade Thirst Quencher contains water, sucrose (table sugar), dextrose, citric acid, natural flavor, sodium chloride (table salt), sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, and flavoring/coloring ingredients.

Basically sugar and dextrose for sweetness, salt for electrolytes, and citric acid to mask the salt and give it that slightly sour taste. Citric acid can usually be found alongside canning supplies (i.e. Mason jars), and you can usually find dextrose in the baking aisle. Or like some other anon said earlier, dump some salt into kool aid.
