I grew up with three brothers all within two years of my age. I swear our mom would only cook enough food for 3 1/2 boys to ensure that the only way for us to eat was to fight. Maybe she thought it built character or something. The result is that me and all my brothers will instinctively eat food off of other people's plates. I have to actively resist the urge to steal someone else's food even when I have food on my plate because I'm always anticipating getting food taken from my own plate later on.

My father was mean as fuck and made every dinner unpleasant. My sister and I learned to snarf our food down like starving Ethiopians at a buffet. I still have to consciously slow down when I eat. I've never FOUGHT over food, but I do remember my mom pissing me off by always taking a giant bite out of my sandwich before she'd give it to me. For some reason this always pissed me off. I'm not sure why.

Someone fought me over being asked to clean up food mess, does that count?
First (and last) roommate assaulted me for asking her to please not leave her molten cheese stick residue on my cookie sheets because it was ruining them and to please stop drinking all the damn milk, it usually lasted for weeks and suddenly a half gallon was gone in one day.
She punched me, pushed me to the floor and kicked me and only relented when my two coworkers pulled her off.
She ran away to the hood, got a group of grown men with guns and came back pretending to be the cops.
The real cops that I called while leaning against the door with the deadbolt twisted manually against her key took 30 minutes to arrive, though the station is literally 2 minutes away by car and 5 by foot.
She threatened me again outside Wal-Mart a year later after her probation expired.
To this day, I abhor police and dairy products.
