I have to admit that cooking has never gotten me laid. Probably because I haven't been dating a lot recently, and previously most of my dates have been out to restaurants or girls have cooked for me.

But cooking gives me something to talk about. I love to cook for others, and it's fun to get complimented on it. I also enjoy making things from raw ingredients and experimenting, even if it's something as simple as making your own tortillas for taco night. I guess I would call it a hobby.

The worst thing cooking has brought me is snobbishness. Like last week when my dad was gonna make chicken wings with pasta w/red sauce as a side and I told him "chicken wings with pasta, in the summer? are you serious? Those don't pair well together. Let me go to the grocery store and get some stuff for sides, you can grill the chicken, I'll do everything else."

I also get pissed sometimes when my dad comes home from work and expects me to have dinner all planned out like i'm his fucking wife. I mean, I don't mind cooking for the two of us a few times a week, but he expects me to always be doing it like I don't have a job of my own. Every now and then on the weekend he cooks up something really good when he puts his mind to it, but he just goes off of cookbooks. He also loves watching Guy Fieri on TV. So glad to finally be moving out.
