Is there a food more versatile than the humble egg?

What is your favourite egg-related recipe, /ck/?

I personally enjoy soft-boiled eggs and spaghetti carbonara the most.

I can hardly ever pass up an opportunity to share my favourite dish, xihongshichaojidan - fried eggs (beaten and then scrambled so the egg is firm) with 'stewed' tomatoes (sometimes it's genuinely stewed, sometimes it's just fried and then made into a sauce with water and cornstarch). It's also a great summer dish if you have it with cold noodles and some vinegar.

Wheat.

I think that every American should be given a loaf of quality bread, a pint of whiskey, and a gallon of beer every single day. Maybe even a couple sticks of butter and a jar of jam once a week.

We simply deserve that standard of living, and it would make America even more awesome than it already is.

I was going to argue wheat as well. There's also all the things you can make with a wheat dough like dumplings (the fluffy cloud kind), noodles, or dumplings (the ones that look like pirogi). And then there's cream of wheat, couscous, all sorts of pastries, donuts, semolina pudding, etc.

The creme fraiche isn't a necessity for French style scrambled eggs. It just makes the process faster. Escoffier would make these over a double broiler for 45 minutes. And adding a spoon of cream to 2 eggs doesn't water it down.

This style is far superior to any of the fluffy scrambled eggs I've had. To the point that the two aren't even comparable.

I have recently discovered the goodness that onsen egg is. Can eat it by itself with just a little garnish, but it's perfect to top a nice hot gyudon bowl.

Generally, the shorter the egg is cooked, the better it tastes.

Last but not least, classic scrambled eggs on smoked bacon bits. Remember to break the yolks last for best results.
