I'm a cook, and I quit because of the degenerates in the kitchen. I won't go back into a kitchen until restaurants start demanding drug tests, background checks, haircuts, etc. It's a job. Not an alternate lifestyle choice.

our head chef is a gay guy. never tried to hide it, but most didn't know it. between us and 2-3 mexican people. our work environment had its tensions but over all the atmosphere was fun, energetic and we got stuff done.

I'm a professional now and that shit don't happen. I spent years in school, took a required test for employment. Spent 4 years as a graduate in training. Took a professional test. Now making good money, working with people that were vetted by the same standards. OP, you're in college. It will get better when you finish, just remember that you are transitioning and don't worry about the shitty people. Put in the hard work and you'll be done with them.

I've worked at Pizza Hut and we'd often have trashy people of all races come in.
If you look at them and treat them like they are trash they are insufferable.
If your kind a polite they can be very nice. That's not to say they are all like this but the vast majority are. If you treat them well they will even tip I've gotten tons of tips from ghetto black people and I'm a skinny white guy from the suburbs.

The people who really suck are the very wealthy. I currently work at the country club in the banquets section. They aren't all that bad but some times they will treat you like a servant and not a person.
