Why?
Just why?

>> No.6668509

What part of Mexico are you going? I can recommend you some places

>> No.6668532

Where to start...

Try menudo, Chili con carne, cheese enchiladas, red/green chili burros (enchilada style if you like the sauce on the outside aswell), Carne asada, bean burritos, chicken/beef quesadillas, red chili frybread, the obvious tacos and tostadas...

With a hearty helping of Spanish rice and refried beans on the side with some queso Blanco on top.

I'm sure an actual Mexican can help with more. I'm just a gringo from north of the border. Its all delicious.

Adobo. There are hundreds types of adobo with the sweeter ones being the best

Then there's tacos. I think this might be Mexico's strongest tradition. The standard ones being al pastor, carne asada, carnitas and fish tacos, but you can find lamb, octopus, blood sausage, and endless variety of tacos.

What part of Mexico are you going?, Mexico have a lot of dishes that you can only get in some places.

But in general get: Pozole, Menudo, Tacos of everything you can get they are fucking delicious (eye, tongue, cachete, al pastor, etc), tortas ahogadas, lonche de pierna, grass hoppers quesadillas, birria, barbacoa, chilaquiles en salsa verde, enchiladas, and don`t get into mall-food shit, explore the streets, Mexico is all about street food.

That I had in Nogales which I admit was part Indian frybread. But the best menudo, echiladas, tacos, and tamales I've ever had were in Mexico. Same with Carne Asada.

But please tell me more about how none of that is served in Mexico...

Just Google it. Its pretty much a deep fried corn/flour tortilla with cheddar and queso blanco inside and out with red sauce. Those I get from a local Mexican restaurant.

I had a Red Chili Burro with red sauce coating it outside La Paz that my friends grandpa made us while we were visiting Baja that was delicious.

Well I guess its not as bad as baja sur, cancun and rivera maya so you can still find decent Mexican around there. The downside of PV is that the food scene is still the same so you'll have to rely on the same joints every time

Uh..

El Arrayan is the best authentic Mexican in town tbh. Its a regional place so you can get a taste of Mexico.

Here's the website :
http://elarrayan.com.mx/en/menu.php

I recommend the shrimp in a peanut sauce, Aguachile, plaintain empanadas, duck tostadas, mole, barbacoa and duck carnitas. I love their tamarind salsa. best I've tried.

Cerveceria Union is a good local brewery with great seafood and tacos along with other mexican dishes.

Yucateco for Yucatan cuisine

panchos takos for the best al pastor in town and a great pineapple salsa

cuetos seafood for a great typical mexican style seafood joint

http://www.mariscoscuetospv.com/menu.htm

rio grande for the best pescado zarandeado in town and a pretty good crab enchiladas

http://www.restaurantriograndevallarta.com/en/menu.html

If you do have the money, cafe de artistes is the best place to eat IMO. pretty expensive but a good modern mexican place.

>dat duck in a guava tamarind arbol sauce

and mariscos cisneros for another mexican seafood joint. great seafood stuffed chile relleno taco
There's more tbh but those come to mind. Other than that, you have to hit the streets. the seafood is not on the level of Mexico city, puebla or tijuana but its good.

street food is big in Mexico , and one of the best in the world. While eating comida casera at someone's house is a nice experience, it is MUCH MORE accessible to eat a bowl of goat stew, al pastor tacos or roadside chicken from a vendor/truck/stall. Mexico is mostly about street food, because its what they do best
