Hey dudes, a week ago I asked about some good places to eat in San Francisco, and man, that turned out to be a great idea. I ate so much great food, and now you guys have my trust.

Do you have some tips on places in Seattle? I'm staying here for 2 days, open for any kind of food, cheap or pricey.
I'm still thankful for the tips I got regarding SF, /ck/ is the greatest

If you have a high budget, then the Brooklyn steakhouse by Benaroya is excellent. Otherwise, you can just look around. Seattle is one of those cities where for the most part, you can just ask people there what's good and they'll tell you.

I'll second Paseo, fantastic sandwiches.

Din Tai Fung is fucking amazing, best soup dumplings I've ever had. (I've only been to their Bellevue location, but they just opened another in University District.)

Salty's on Alki beach has a great weekend brunch, make a reservation though. Also pricey.

And if you find yourself in the Bellevue/Redmond area Mayuri has really good Indian food. If you hit their lunch buffet (11:00-2:00) you can try a big variety for $10. Be prepared to fight the Microsoft crowd though.

And if you see the giant pig truck known as Maximus Minimus you gotta stop and get some pulled pork and mac and cheese. (Alternately, you can get the same mac and cheese at Beechers near Pike Place Market.)

Ohhh Seattle... If you've got the money, Ponti Grill is pretty good. Or any of Tom Douglas' restaurants, Serious Pie is my fav.

For American, The Crab Pot down on the wharf has a bamf lobster mac n cheese. Ivar's Fish n Chips because duh. The Old Spaghetti Factory is another local classic, but not that great imho. Heard that the Lunchbox Laboratory is fun.

There's a divey Korean place in the U district called Korean Tofu House which is great.
International district Shanghai Garden for homemade noodles. There's some upscale sushi restaurants, but fuck if I know what they are.

And, random as shit, and dunno if its still there, but there's a little place called the Mawadda Cafe in West Seattle. Run by a cool Iraqi dude, their chai is to die for. Gyros, shawarma, kebab, etc.

To further poo-poo the reputation of Seattle icons, if you're in the mood for some clam chowder skip Ivar's and look for Pike Place Chowder.

Okay, there's nothing wrong with Ivar's (unlike Dick's), but Pike Place Chowder is just really goddamn good. Plus it's in Post Alley so you can stop and get some free gum while you're there.

If you're in the mood for something touristy go hit up Salty's in Alki for the brunch buffet. The food is only OK, but you can sit outside with the Seattle skyline across the bay, which is more than you can say for that horrible cesspool Dick's.

If you like beer head to one of Elysian's fooderies and fill up on suds (food's alright). Or perhaps Quinn's Pub on capitol hill (food's roasted bone marrow and wild boar sloppy joe with fried sage and orgasms).
