literally everything in Redwall

>Tansy put her basket down upon a mossy knoll and began setting out food: a little chunk of yellow cheese, small farls of soft nutbread, a few candied chestnuts and a flagon of elderberry cordial.

>Brother Alf remarked that Friar Hugo had excelled himself, as course after
course was brought to the table. Tender freshwater shrimp garnished with
cream and rose leaves, devilled barley pearls in acorn puree, apple and
carrot chews, marinated cabbage stalks steeped in creamed white turnip with nutmeg.

>Sunflash and Skarlath had never tasted such good cooking. There was young onion and leek soup, hot brown bread spread with a paste made from beechnuts, a woodland salad and a huge apple and greengage crumble. The crumble was a great favourite with the little ones, who spread it thick with honey.

Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 – 30 April 1945) was an Austrian-born German politician who was the leader of the Nazi Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP); National Socialist German Workers Party). He was Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and Führer ("leader") of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. As effective dictator of Nazi Germany, Hitler was at the centre of World War II in Europe and the Holocaust.
Hitler was a decorated veteran of World War I. He joined the precursor of the NSDAP, the German Workers' Party, in 1919 and became leader of the NSDAP in 1921. In 1923 he attempted a coup in Munich to seize power. The failed coup resulted in Hitler's imprisonment, during which time he wrote his autobiography and political manifesto Mein Kampf ("My Struggle"). After his release in 1924, Hitler gained popular support by attacking the Treaty of Versailles and promoting Pan-Germanism, anti-Semitism, and anti-communism with charismatic oratory and Nazi propaganda. Hitler frequently denounced international capitalism and communism as being part of a Jewish conspiracy.

Spice Melange has a different flavor and scent every time you encounter it.

It supposedly starts as "cinnamon" because most people think of that when they hear "spice". From there, it changes to suit the taste of the individual, matching a flavor and scent profile that makes it more and more appealing, and never the same as the last time.

Forged in darkness from wheat harvested in Hell's half-acre, baked by Beelzebub, slathered with mayonnaise from the evil eggs of a powerful dark chicken, beaten into sauce by the hands of a one-eyed madman, cheese boiled from the rancid teat of a three-headed fanged cow, layered with 666 separate meats from an animal which has maggots for blood. With dijon mustard, lettuce, and sun dried tomatoes. Bacon is extra.

>> No.6642953

Got it off food52, pretty straightforward:

Melt 2 tbsps unsalted butter in a saucepan on medium heat. Add 1/4 c brown sugar, 1/4 c heavy cream, and 1/4 tsp sea salt. Bring to a gentle boil for 5 minutes. Basically making a simple butterscotch.

Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 3 cups apple cider, 1 cup Ginger Ale. Heat until "very hot", and butterscotch has dissolved.

That's for a super-rich, non-alcoholic version.

If you want to make it for a more adult palate, you could try using hard cider instead of normal cider, and adding a shot or two of spiced rum.

There's some other ways to tweak it (ginger beer instead of ginger ale, less sugary cider, add top with a hit of cinnamon, etc.) but that's the foundation.

I don't remember her dying during a burglary, though I could be thinking of a different blind badger lady.

The one I remember dying did so sitting at the feasting table while dozing off. Old age took her to her hare soldiers. When asked where they should march, she said, "to where the Sun sets", and that was when one of the other characters noticed she had passed.

Sea salt ice cream. There are so many recipes for it but none of them ever look the same and are all essentially frozen vanilla custard with salt and blue food coloring. Sea salt icecream appears to be water based in canon, not custard based. But it's called ice cream. It's both triggering and tantalizing. The most conflicting of feels.

I think that line was referring to the type of rubber ball used in the game squash rather than balls made of the gourd squash. Squash gourds generally aren't black.
