I've had Giorgano's, Lou Malnati's (cold so I'd like to try again), and Pizano's. I had Uno's but in Baltimore so I don't know if that counts. I'm here for another two years at least so my goal is to have them all at some point.

I think Giorgano's is my favorite at the moment. I enjoyed Pizano's thin crust more than their deep dish.

Lou Malnati's sausage pie is the best.

Chicago thin crust is my favorite, but my oven sucks for that, deep dish comes out better at home. There's isn't much to it:

Butter pan, add dough, put in toppings/cheese, cover with thin layer of dough, pinch/tuck, nail with roller, add sauce, and bake.

My pi on damen and Armitage.
Get the deep dish uncut as to preserve the integrity of the crust

Being from Minneapolis, I have to resort making my own. It's a bit of a drive, so I've had actual Pizza and nobody else gets it right except for the people of Chicago.

While I can't get it as good, making it myself is 1000% better than any version I've had at a restaurant here. Pic related; I don't know anybody with one of these, yet people still make "Deep dish" pizza. Fuck, it's not deep dish if you don't have the tools!

>> No.6627618

I really want to like deep dish pizza, because it just sounds so appetizing. But then I try it and it leads to disappointment.
Why did I make this post?

Deep dish isn't pizza, it is a pie, and is only eaten by disgusting obese people.

It's funny because the one that says "Sauce pool" is pointing at a cheese pizza with crushed tomatoes and no sauce.

Time to get a new image.

Giordano's, I think you mean...it's my favorite. There are some really good, non-deep dish pizza's in Chicago, it's funny as often as deep dish is eaten in Chicago, it's usually the tourists that eat it. My family flies in for the weekend, let's get a deep dish. They taste amazing, but the internet portrays the wrong.

Detroit deep dish is okay, but it's a lot of bread, I don't want it as often. I do like Little Caesar's even, but not as often.

I live in the NYC area and as much as I like NY style and NJ style slices and pies I feel at this moment the neapolitan pizza in this area might just be the best in the world. I haven't been to Napoli but the wood fired ovens around here make better pizza than anywhere else on the world bar apart from maybe Napoli.

I just get straight pepperoni on mine. I live in Windsor, across from Detroit so our pizza isn't shit like Toronto or any large city.

Pequod's Pizza on Webster/Clybourne is my shit and definitely my go-to recommendation.

Uno's/Due's is good as hell too but a lot more expensive and out of the way for me so it's been ages since I've had it.

chicago fags have no tastebuds so they rely on texture alone
burning the pizza while drowning it in sauce and cheese creates what they would call good taste, but what others would call garbage
