I am drinking this Dogfish Head Midas Touch. I wanted to try some Festina Peche but it sold out in a couple days and I missed it.

Anyway, whether or not you buy into/enjoy the whole "ancient ale thing Dogfish has, this is damn good. Unique too. It smells pretty grapey, like a sweet white wine. That is because it is considered "cool" or "hip" or "elite" to hate Dogfish Head for some reason, or to call them "gimmicky". Rouge is a gimmicky brewery, Dogfish is NOT. They are cool guys, who just make the beer they want to make, and most of the time they do it well.

As far as this particular beer goes, autists on the internet just get triggered about the whole ancient ale/King Midas thing. It taste damn good, who cares if they bases it off of some recipe in a tomb or if they didn't (they did by the way, not to be gimmicky, but because it was a neat idea, and it tasted good after the fact)

I endend up buying a 22oz of 805 tonight. When I walk my dog I usually buy a 24oz can of some flavored malt garbage at the near by liqour store to drink while I take my dog for a mile and a half walk. Last night I actually bought a 22oz of the Firewalker IPA because I have the money and I mostly drink craft beer so I thought it would be good to drink while walking. A fucking 22oz bottle of 7.5 abv IPA is rough to down while you walk a mile and a half even though I enjoy a nice IPA. I usually don't like drinking beer that is less than 7% abv. I'm a craft beer enthusiast but I'm still an alcoholic. I downed this bottle of 805 in half the time it takes me to drink a bottle of 8% sugar shit. Sure it's half the abv but this beer tasted really good. I could see myself picking up a 12 pack to share with people who aren't BIG BEER drinkers. I would never buy it for myself again but this is way better than all the adjuct lager people usually drink.

I am drinking this Lagunitas Citrusinensis. It as a pale ale (not IPA, apparently) brewed with blood orange. I love IPAs (Or Pale Ales, whatever the actual difference is), ad blood orange, and this beer is damn good in my opinion. It has a pretty tropical, citrus filled aroma, with some blood orange in there, and the taste follows that, but with the blood orange really shining through in the finish.

Not that malty or bitter, on the fruity side of the pale ale/IPA spectrum which is how I like them. It is a limited release so buy some if you see it.

I only paid $11.50 for this so I think it was a good buy and I just bought it because I didn't feel like Old Rasputin today and this bevmo was smaller and had less selection in the freezer. I'm an alcohol noob, and I've been experimenting with a lot of beer.

Most beers leave too bitter a taste for me, except for Coors (Light). Even with Bud Light, though, I find that beer goes great with sponge cake, complimenting the bitterness.

Pale ales are nice but rather soapy. I tried a Pilsner once and it reminded me of Ginger Ale, that was nice. I tried Amstel and it tasted kinda like root beer.

Today I tried extra stout Guinness, and then decided to toss some coconut water in to balance out the flavor. And it tastes amazing, to me at least. I call it the Irish Castaway. I wonder how it tastes to beer experts.

Other than that, I'd say use extract, or dried versions of the fruit in the fermenting wort the way you would dry-hopping, or in secondary fermentation/carbonation, if you want it a bit sweeter.

Fermentation's gonna eat the sugar so you don't have to worry about it being too sweet.

Stouts are generally more malty. Where you from? That's the best way to get into beers start local if there are good breweries near by.. I'd start with a milk or sweet stouts. Unless you like coffee then look for a coffee or expresso.. the later will definatly be a heavy drink might be overwhelming but I don't know your tastes so...for your first go I'd stay away from barrel aged or imperial. Might also want to try a brown ale or porter I'm not sure what your actually looking for just a darker beer or a full on deep dark beer

I've tried really cheap swill and blue moon which I guess is basically semi-cheap swill. I really wanted to try a stout and lots of people reccomend going for a milk stout because it's not quite as bitter as most stouts.

So I got this left hand brand Nitro milk stout and haven't tried it yet but will later today.
