Dumping some photos from my trip to Japan

Holy shit these grapes were amazing. Huge and juicy, held their shape when biting through them.

I wish we did the fruit stuff they do in Japan in the US.

First time I ever had or had heard of Tsukemen. Shit was delicious, better than any I've tried in the US since. The broth was just /dense/. Even after letting it drip off the noodles each bite was super intense.

We ordered way too much at the Okonomiyaki restaurant, weren't able to finish half of it (not all shown in these photos).

Generally delicious, though the texture is a bit wonky for most of them.

Ate tons of delicious curry rice & variations.

There were these delicious and super cheap donburi all over Tokyo and Osaka. I wish curry rice and donburi were fast food here...

When I lived in NY not a couple months ago they were still selling unagi at their Buffalo area locations...

Ingredients for sukiyaki. Had a good time asking random non-English-speakers in Tokyo where to find a sukiyaki place.

Ice cream and red bean paste is a great combination. Better with vanilla than matcha.

Someone needs to contact Ben & Jerry's or something.

Ate at Sushi Dai in the Tokyo fish market. Had to wait in line for 2.5 hours. I'm not that big on sushi, but my friend had been planning to go to this place from the start of the trip, so I went with him...and holy shit! It was amazing!

All the sushi I had in Japan was better than anything I'd tried before in the United States, but this was an order of magnitude beyond anything else I tried in Japan. The fatty tuna is beautifully marbled and melts in your mouth with the perfect flavour and texture. Not too "fishy", but deep and intense.
