I know 3 CIA grads.

One is a good chef who makes great food and writes out very clear recipes, all around good guy. Clearly talented with a strong work ethic and decent management/business skills, even.

Another holds a high-level hospitality position at a prestigious institution. I'm pretty sure he's a hack. I've got no idea how well he can handle himself in the kitchen, because I've never actually seen him cook. Can't seem to remember what happened 5 minutes ago, or get anything done in general.

The third is a drunk who owns a small restaurant. The food is pretty good, with some interesting dishes on offer (and great desserts), but the guy depends pretty heavily on a very strong line cook. I assume the owner is still creating new menu items, but his alcoholism renders him more or less unable to run the kitchen by himself.

So based on experience with their graduates, I've got no idea what to think of CIA.
