It was amazing. I've never used rosewater before. The rice was so fragrant and perfect for the rice raisin and almond pudding that resulted

Anyone else recently stumble on something interesting and new to them?

Those instant packs of miso soup. Perfect for when you need a salty snack fix and not a ton of calories. Drink it out of a cup like tea.

Yeah, but I have to drive 30 minutes to buy the paste. I will get some next time I go to the Asian market.

I bought a pack of these tomato cubes on impulse. They're really good. I like them better than regular chicken cubes for seasoning rice.

I always add a couple squirts of ketchup to my chicken stock when cooking rice.

Cooking rice in beef broth.

Yeah, I know it's common as fuck and everyone does it, but I just discovered it a couple days ago and it blew my mind. It's an easy way to make plain rice taste amazing, and it's useful for adding color to a dish.

How did you make your rice pudding? I bought rosewater a couple of weeks ago and have been looking for a use. This sounds breddy good.

To keep with the thread, I've been discovering white pepper and puff pastry recently. I've used both in the past, but only for specific recipes that called for them. The white pepper has been adding a missing dimension to a couple of spice blends I make. Puff pastry is just good. I like stuffing it with goat cheese and nuts, then drizzling honey on it after it bakes.

Well it's more expensive price-wise even though cost-wise it's cheap where as the packets are cheaper price-wise. Packets also have dehydrated ingredients in them like tofu and wakame.

I added a tablespoon and a half of rosewater to the rice water at the start of cooking. That's the only difference, it's easy as that.
