Just personal preference and I do it to a lot of extra tall sandwiches. It's done right in every way. I just like it smashed down thinner and it makes the bread more chewy some how too

Well the banana peppers sounded like it may be good to me so I suppose other peppers aren't far off from that. But never seen it. Still would like to try it but no lettuce or onions or olives and stuff like that on that sandwich.

Would use Italian hero roll instead light toasted
