Proper response is to politely ask for a manager and calmly explain that the employee was being rude.

Optional: when you return home, write a well-worded email to KFC corporate using the rude employee's name if they were wearing a nametag, or the manager's name if not. Explain that you didn't feel welcome in the restaurant and that one of the employees became hostile when you inquired about a menu item.

Goal #1 with fast food workers is to get them in shitloads of trouble via polite and well worded complaints. Exaggerating how the employee was rude to you is a great tactic. Fast food employees are literally human garbage, and any action against them is encouraged.

Soccer moms are not intelligent. Soccer moms will momentarily scream at someone, then leave. This accomplishes nothing. The manager won't take the complaint seriously.

Speaking very calmly and politely with a manager to inform them of an employee's rude behavior will lead to that employee being on the manager's shitlist.

Writing a well worded and polite email to corporate about how you no longer feel comfortable stopping at the restaurant on your way home from work will get the employee and possibly the manager on the company's shitlist with corporate.

The goal isn't to scream at the employees, the goal is to get them on the shitlist and possibly get them shitcanned. These fast food employees are vermin and deserve this treatment.
