Who here makes their own tortillas? I'm just starting to get into this, and I like it so far. Looking to try recipe variations and trying to figure out what they add to H-E-B Southwest tortillas.

>H-E-B Southwest tortillas

Those things are so delicious I eat them by themselves.

i dont understand why american made flour tortillas are so damn thick. tortillas are like an edible fork. its about the food, not the tortilla.

i do need to ask my aunt for her recipe though

What's different about them? Haven't been to H•E•B in years. And I miss Whataburger, too.
Texas fucking sucks as a state, but H•E•B is hella tight and Whataburger gets damned near no respect when it comes to burger chains, which is a shame since it blows both In-n-Out and Five Guys outta the fucking water.

Also, I make my own tortillas. I make wheat, corn and wheat-and-corn tortilla-like foodstuff.

Do they? They're always pretty thin when I buy them. My homemade ones are way thicker, though.

They have some magic red powder in them and bits of jalapeno, which gives them a bite.

What does that have to do with Texas sucking as a state? And what does pointing out 'hella' have to do with anything?
Texan education, everyone.

To be fair, that ratings report is from 2013, when oil was still in the 90s.

Either way, does anyone have any recipes they use? I've tried Chef John's recipe, and the tortillas turned out OK.
