The grapes are good, maybe some clementines, some sandwiches, one that will last if it's hot out, not something like tuna salad which will fuck off in heat. Something cruncy like chips are nice, maybe bugles.

Don't forget a bottle or two of wine, and especially don't forget a cork screw and bottle opener.

Napkins.

It's especially important to remember to bring your towel!

Coleslaw
Focaccia bread
Selection of Cheeses, cold cuts, cured meats
Selection of chutneys
Selection of fresh fruit
Big jug of Robinson's Barley water
A light red (Pinot noir, pref a beaujolais villages or similar, NZ is making some damn nice stuff)

There are a whole load of classic Italian dishes that are great for a pincic as well; braised artichoke dip, sundried tomatoes in herb infused olive oil, slow braised lamb, etc. that go great with a good focaccia.

All of this stuff is pretty easy to transport and best served room temp as well, so it's ideal for a picnic.
