It was probably the most noticeable exterior flaw and the thing people always pointed out. It was a 2001, auto, no leaks, 180k miles, I didn't check anything much besides test driving and looking over the engine for cracks and weird noises. Brakes felt fine.

The interior was pretty worn away on the driver's seat, it had a foul smell at first that I eventually mostly removed. AC wasn't great when it decided to work and the radio just didn't even. I definitely don't miss that car but I do recommend an echo to people that want a cheap beater. Civics are probably better for that though.

I could care less about cosmetic as much as I do how it operates. I've had an Impreza 2.5 with a cracked head and it leaked oil like a sieve. I'm driving an 02 passat I bought used with about 120K. But the Impreza I owned had 200K+ and I knew about the oil leak. I just wanted it to last the year so I could finish college (it did last and the headgasket finally went just after I finished)

I've had roughly 7 cars since my 1st I ever owned which was a '00 Chevy Prizm which was my dad's. That's the only car in which the AC actually worked. I at this point expect to spend about 100 buying R134A refrigerant to recharge my AC. It's basically standard.
