God dammit. I loved this brewery.

Well, I guess it's time for me to stop buying their beer.

Pretty much this. Hipsters in the beer scene are so fucking obnoxious. If you like it, buy it, it's fucking beer.

I don't want to support Anheuser-Busch. I don't like the way they advertise that they're better than people who like craft beer, but they keep buying up small breweries to diversify their portfolio since craft beers are growing in popularity.

Nice buzzword.

WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH A FAGGOT? IF YOU LIKE THE BEER THEN DRINK IT

yeah whenever local dudes from my city actually become successful and catch a huge financial break while also retaining all control of their business, i usually call them sell outs and stop supporting them

One of the owners thinks so too. He's decided to walk away from the company while the other two guys share their profits with the biggest name in beer in the US.

Yes, who could believe a company that makes a beer with the slogan "corporate beer still sucks" would feel like sell outs when they get bought up by the biggest corporate beer company in the country?

I'm sorta disappointed that /ck/ is reacting like this. I wasn't looking for A-B hate thread or anything, but it's sad to see a company that got started on its own, became successful on it's own, get sold to a company like A-B.

money makes the world go 'round, my friend. when someone offers you a couple million for your soul, let's see what you say.

>> No.6420557

I get where you're coming from. The only problems I have with AB are their blatant hypocrisy and the fact that they push bad beer and try to pretend that it's good. I've heard a few other shady things about them too. Other than that, they're a company just trying to make money like everyone else. That said, it always sucks to see someone you admire sell out. Whatever the consequences are, whether good or bad, it's not what you wanted when you were supporting them.

So they're making more money and apparently putting out the same product; what is the big fucking deal you autists?

If they were pushing bad beer then they wouldn't stay in business. You are just not a fan of light American lager, but obviously many people are.

Some of us don't like the company that now owns, and is making money off, a company that started out on its own, became successful on it's own, and had great beer.

I understand that 2/3 of the owners are fine with the situation, and I wish them well with their business, but I won't be buying their products anymore because some of the profits they make will go to a company I don't want to support.

Sure it's only their word but OP is acting like this is some kind of unheard of disaster. It happens all the time and while I understand that companies can't always be trusted; OP hasn't even tried a new batch of their beer and is condemning them.

Nice boogie man spamming.

>>6420581
It has nothing to do with the flavor of their beer, and every thing to do with where the profits are going. I'm OP, and I do not want to support AB at all if possible.

>> No.6420587

>>6420565
Time will tell if they're putting out the same product. The "big fucking deal" is I don't want to give my money to a big faceless corporation that puts the squeeze on smaller companies if I can avoid it.

>>6420568
I'm fine with a Budweiser or High Life or whatever because they don't pretend. Their beers that they sell as fake craft beers (try to avoid putting corporate logos/labels on them) like Shock Top, Leffe "Abbey" ale, Wild Blue, Stella, etc seem to me like an attempt to get money from less informed people.

How is that hipster? That's capitalism which isn't hipster. I don't like Walmart so I don't shop there or at any of their other stores. I also try to avoid any products that use them for distribution but that's not always clear.

There actually isn't a Chick-fil-a anywhere near me. I also don't give a shit what the owner of the company thinks about where people should be putting penises.
