Thats keenoah right?

Correct, Quionaonawa.

it isn't really much better or worse than any other filler for your meal (usually carb) polenta, couscous, pasta, bread, potatoes, noodles, rice, you name it

but invariably one or the other is going to be more fashionable at any one time. that's just the nature of the industry

Eh, the texture of kweenqua always squicked me out a little. It was always either mashy or stringy if it wasn't cooked long enough to be mashy. Worst of the filler carbs by a mile.

Just gotta cook it well, which to be fair is much harder than rice.

I love the flavor though, the nuttiness is delicious

I beg to differ. It IS worse than most fillers. Taste is quite nice, but the mouthfeel is awful.

It's gluten free and actually holds together in pasta form, which means I can actually eat decent meals with my relatives without banning grains

it just feels like eating really short grain rice to me

Honestly my only objection is the mouthfeel. Beyond that I like the nutty flavor and it is pretty fucking good for you, despite its trendiness.

Last time I visited my mom she made some killer risotto with that stuff, oyster mushrooms and shitake. I don't think it would have been as good with rice, so keenwah can be good.

I say this without insult, but you may have autism.

That is assuming you've had it cooked correctly though. The texture is similar to rice and I like the taste.

had a Quinoa salad once for lunch. A very good substitute for grain and it kept me full for the rest of the day. It is a lot like a miniature brown rice but it soaks up a lot of flavor. So it is not tasty if it it is not seasoned well. You will never see it in michelin star restaurants because the salt used can make it very unhealthy....WTF
