Honestly I'm shocked
I've seen some of the shit all levels of the mexican government get away with and it's hilarious... it would be rage-inducing if I lived in Mexico

quick story
My friend was in Mexico and this happened to him:

>coming out of nightclub, drunk with 3 friends
>call a Taxi
>go a couple of blocks
>cop stops the Taxi and looks in the cab
>asks the guys for "a bite" (bribe)
>They refuse because they did nothing wrong, shit they weren't even driving
>cop just nods his head and walks off
>Taxi driver doesn't go anywhere
>a bunch of thugs open the door and yank them out, beat the shit out of them and steal everything they have including phone wallet etc.
>Taxi driver drives off and they get left on the street, bleeding and hurt
>they go to the authorities

Apparently La Guerrerense only got immensely popular once Bourdain ate there. And I have family in Ensenada, they said it stopped being as good once it got popular.

Also, it seems weird to say, but I miss Mexican-Chinese food. And I've never heard anyone outside of Spanish-speaking Chinese immigrants call egg rolls "Chun Kun."

Tijuana is categorised as a "sufficiency," meaning that it largely provides itself with its own needs and does very little, if anything at all, for global economy as it neither manufactures things for outside of its area nor does it buy many things manufactured elsewhere. It is isolated.
With isolation from the global marketplace, comes a one-sided perspective on culture and cuisine. I've no doubt it's good, but to say that tacos, tacos, tacos and tacos can compare to the variety found in a global city is just silly.
There's no comparison. What do you do in Tijuana if you feel like having some bratwurst or Thuringer then a crème brûlée after?

That page isn't loading for me, but I'll take your word for it and concede the point.
Tijuana is more global than I gave it credit for. Still, I don't believe it can compare to DF in variety and options. I'd imagine it's like comparing Boston to New York.

probably not, since you're comparing a city to an entire region, but Tijuana has quality over quantity, not saying DF is bad, far from it, but you can find good food anywhere in tijuana

I went when I was younger, I'm still too paranoid to go now because of all the cartel shit, even if it hasn't been really active for years.

I wish I could go with my mexican brethren coworkers so that I wouldn't be constantly worried about being robbed or raped.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/drinking_water/index.shtml

Just because it's a city shouldn't lead you to believe the US hasn't mastered safe water and sewer delivery. We're pretty damn serious about safety and modernity. Some regions of the country have fresh pure water sources, others are purified. Lines are flushed on schedules and testing is done daily in every municipality. There's no need to drink bottled water in the US unless you have well water because you are so far from a roadway and city sewer systems (somewhere remote, like a farm).

Everybody in Flint is drinking bottled water.
But that's because Flint decided they could take water from the Flint river instead of lake Huron, then over-cleaned it leaving too much cleaner in the water for human consumption, then continues to deny any problem with the water despite foul odors and discoloration.

Even if you have well water, that doesn't mean you should be drinking bottled. If there's something wrong with your well, then yeah, but regular testing should point out any hazards.
