They are killing themselves with hedonism, I fail to see why this is so horrible.
They will probably die sooner, but the total amount of food consumed is probably higher than for long-living thin people. And isn't that just as legitimate of a metric for a happy life as anything?

I'm not judging, but just being 20 kgs overweight I already have lots of aches and pains and it doesn't feel good at all. I can only imagine how it feels being a 100 kgs overweight.
