Why is raising canes sauce so based?

>> No.6334892

I have no idea. Please tell me.

I have no idea what that is, and from your enthusiastic misuse of words like "based", combined with your assumption that everyone knows the nicknames of the condiments at your local fast food chain, I have to assume you're a teenager still living with his parents.

This place near me tries to imitate it and it's nowhere as good. Raising Cane's is master race.

you took the pleb route, the fries are the one thing that are routinely hit and miss. when fresh are god tier crisp crinkle goodness but when not they are limp and soggy as fuck.

Canes is fine, I like Canes to be honest.

But I just want to point out Raising Cane's copied Zaxbys or maybe Guthries which is what Zaxby's copied.

The founder of Cane's went to UGA, and there was a Guthries right by campus in Athens, and zaxbys were popping up around GA at the same time as he was a student at UGA. All of them have a somewhat similar sauce and layout. The chicken tenders are the main draw with the same mayo based pinkish sauce being a draw.

Guthries being somewhat the OG (it's salty bullshit I can't recommend the few places that still exist). It comes to history. Chicken tenders/strips/fingers whatever you call it were hot shit in north Alabama where guthries started and it mostly comes from that.

About the sauce, Every fried chicken hole in the wall and gas station in north Alabama has sold chicken tenders, strips, fingers etc for about 30 years. It's the epicenter but it's a hillbilly wasteland which could not commercialize on it. There is a shitty shack in Arab, AL that claims to have invented the "chicken sauce" as I call it. It's not very good when I dined there, the best chicken and sauce in the epicenter is a real greasepit in a town called Albertville, Alabama a bit east. I went back there recently and now it's full of Mexicans and other latin americans, I saw them all around and some came in and paid rent when I bought my meal. I think they are basically the majority in the area in the area now and there is stellar mexican food in the area if that's your thing, La orquidea being a great place nearby for good mexican food in a latino grocery or speedy gonzalez a few miles south in Boaz has great tacos and tortas and the tamales were legit. Back to chicken the hillbilly girls still make the chicken and sauce at the place.

So yeah, it's a great place, I enjoy Cane's, it's just nothing original and certainly not original to New Orleans or anywhere that far south. you find the same shit in almost any stop in north AL.

That's fine, as I said I like Cane's myself, just thought I would drop some history on the type of place raising canes is and the history of those types of places. Another fun fact is that most Dairy Queens where independent in that area until around a decade ago and sold the same quality tendies and that kind of sauce until then. Now they are corporate minded garage unfortunately with lackluster chicken and I've seen a hillbilly get kicked out of a DQ when his "chicken sauce (broad term for what the sauce at canes is) wasn't provided with the meal and he flipped his shit because he thought it was standard to all chicken tenders places.

>> No.6335966

Isnt Cane's sauce just mayo, ketchup, and worcester sauce? Isn't just about every special sauce just something mixed with mayo? OP is confirmed teenager living with his mom.

Except the chicken tender was invented in Texas

>It happened over 30 years ago - The Original Golden Tender™ was born. We started using the whole chicken tenderloin (the filet mignon of chicken) to make our Original Golden Tenders™. To guarantee great, fresh taste, we marinate our tenderloins, hand-batter and cook them to a delicious golden perfection. Since 1985 the Big Guys have tried to copy us...and they're still trying to get it right

You make it with worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, and creole seasoning mix (has salt and msg in it)
