Hamburger Helper got me interested in cooking. In the military I experimented with adding different ingredients. Using chorizo instead of ground beef. Add an onion or two, and some curry powder...It is the perfect gateway to real cooking.

Funny you mention curry, Anon. I've actually based quite a few curry recipes around the idea of being simple and easy to prepare like hamburger helper. I call it thaiburger helper (I usually do thai curries, looking to into indian ones)
