I visited my bro in Bamberg and went to this Brauerei plus all the others in town. It definitely was the best in a place known for it's ancient beers.

A couple years later, I saw it in a a NJ specialty beer store and grabbed a 6pack. It's hard to find a beer this distinctive and flavorful and godtier.

Apart from that, I really enjoy a Bell's Two-Hearted Ale. Bell's production is taking off and you can get more of their seasonals in far-flung places.

I actually lived in Bamberg (the city where they make that stuff), for like 4 years. There's over a dozen breweries in the city. The stuff is too dark and burnt tasting for me, but the restaurant/brewery that serves it is pretty great. My favorite Hamburger beer, indeed my favorite beer OF ALL time is pic related.
