i got a question about steaks /ck/

My mother cooked fillet steak today and since i count calories, i found one of the options that says "fillet mignon, lean only" how do i know if that steak was lean?

Also for future reference which steak cut has the highest protein to total calories ratio?

..w-wait...wut...?

fillet *is* one of the leanest cuts on the animal, it just means any large fat deposits are trimmed away.

i'm using myfitnesspal for counting calories, one food item is named "fillet mignon" that has 190 calories for 100 gram and 28g of protein is this accurate?

calories seem a little low, not all cows are created equal but protein content is probably about right.

>highest protein to total calories ratio
>Low fat
Try looking for meat from game : venison, ostrich, kangaroo, horse, whatever is available where you live.
They are very lean (3% fat) and high in protein.

I guess it's because, for decades, cows have been selected to be the fattest.

how many calories would you say?

USDA says 267 calories in 100g.
26.46g protein, 17.12g fat

Best thing to do on myfitnesspal is just go for the worst one and be on the safe side. Just out of interest, what's your daily calorie goal?

2700 cals

Sounds a lot to be honest

Not judging but how heavy are you? I used MFP and it worked well for me, I went from around 210 to between 160-170 now and it took me maybe around 7 months. Asking because my goal for pretty much the whole time was 1200 cal and 2700 seems pretty high.
