I figure most people will forget the exact price and you can pocket the rest and get a second tip on top too. Of course you could run into some pretty angry people doing that too. So you weigh the risks and benefits.

Just be fast, don't be autistic at the door, don't talk a lot, don't act like you just stepped out from a commercial, don't rely on a GPS or you'll never learn the area, don't take sharp turns unless you want to turn a pepperoni pizza into a half pepperoni pizza.

Do hustle during rush times, especially when you're in the store grabbing deliveries, do make sure you have everything before leaving the store, don't leave that up to the person arranging your bags, do brag about how much better your job is to those working in the store because honesty is the best policy.

Really, it comes down to your personality. You'll have to work side-by-side with your interviewer so don't be a kiss-ass, but also give the impression that you genuinely respect the work.

If they start asking you stupid HR question then turn 1080 degrees and walk the other way.

Also, show a willingness to work in the store. Most places value cross skills in their employees. For instance, I started as a grill cook before moving on to full time driving, but I still learned how to make pizza and do morning maintenance. This way, I could be called in if no one was able to cover a particular station. I mean, I usually made an excuse unless they wanted me for a driving shift, but by then I had already instilled myself in as the lazy guy who still manages to have the best drive times and customer satisfaction surveys so they didn't really give a shit.

Also, if your store does customer satisfaction surveys and your manager is insisting that you "inform" customers to fill it out, ignore him. Customers hate that shit as I'm sure you do and all the drivers will get tipped less in the long run.
