OP what do you know about Bento? Its daunting as fuck and i failed on my first attempt. I would recommend just make something really Japanese like Omurice (which isn't that hard) with a kawaii face written in ketchup. Follow it up with a cute cake.

Daifuku is a good idea, but if OP can find real Japanese anko and not the Chinese shit there's a high chance he can find daifuku as well and if he can he's better off just buying it instead of trying to make. Unless he knows what he's doing it's not going to be as good

I've never made it because I work as a cook and (yes, I'm using this as an excuse) I'm too fucking lazy to do shit that takes more than a small amount of time. As such, I just buy it from asian markets. I have heard from my friend who likes cooking as a hobby that they fuck it up every time they make it, for what it's worth.

Also ramen with tonkatsu (which isn't the same as tonkotsu ramen, which just means they make the broth from pork bones essentiannly) is so much fucking easier to make, it just requires more time because of the broth. 12 years old weaboos would probably be happy with a frozen cutlet served in fucking ramen "broth" for fucks sake.

Look up bento boxes and pick a bunch of the easier things to lay out on a buffet table. Apple bunnies, hotdog octopus with black sesame seeds for eyes, those rice triangle things (but you'll need to find seaweed paper to make it look right), sandwiches with stuff on top that look like animal faces, cherry tomatoes, other salad etc.
Bentoesque stuff you can probably find frozen include fried chicken wings, pork schnitzel, tempura prawns. If you post what you're thinking of making, you can probably get more specific advice.
