>I've never had a cronut and am concerned about having my first one be from such a shitty place.
I'm not sure how this matters; unless you are going to Dominique Ansel's bakery in SoHo you are not getting a cronut. I've had a couple of actual cronuts and various knockoffs. None of the knockoffs tasted like each other, and none of them tasted like a cronut.

My experience of DD over the last decade or so it that they've gone to shit. Every time I've been in one everything was dissatisfying. The coffee wasn't good, the donuts were way too sweet and mediocre at best and the croissant breakfast sandwich they do in the microwave tasted like it was made with spite.

Judging from their mediocre donuts and shitty croissants I would actively avoid their cronut just as I active avoid DD in general these days.

It's okay. Better than their donuts (except for the bavarian cream one) the texture is nice but it tastes very plain. Their regular croissants are better.

There next LTO's are Cookie dough and brownie batter. Extremely sweet so avoid those if you can. Usually they get a strawberry frosted heart filled with Bavarian cream for Valentines which is pretty tasty. As them to make you one without sprinkles.

Oh and just bake stores have better donuts then delivered donuts. They all pale in comparison to local Asian donut shops though if you live in a kinda small town you most likely have one.

I suppose. These days good coffee is not that hard to find, though. If you're buying coffee from a fast food place or a chain you just don't care. Nothing wrong with that. There's no rule saying everyone has to be particular about their coffee.

When I do get donuts I go to Ray's or Happy Donut. The latter is one of those Asian run shops with tons of good, original donuts to choose from.

When ever I order any of their flavored coffees, they always give you like 1 TB of the flavored syrup so when you suck on it once, you get fucking hit with strong flavor and if you suck on it again, it's just water after that.
