What's your signature dish, /ck/? What's that one dish you make that everybody always raves about and asks you to make for them?

Pic related, I make a damn good chili for a Yankee. My personal tweaks include a mix of black and red beans, finely chopped celery and apple for extra crunch and a tablespoon of honey to balance out the saltiness.

I dont like sweet entres, why would you need so much sweet to balance the salt?

Everyone seems to go nuts about my Chicken Parmesan for some reason. Bread it with cornflake crumbs, serve it on a bed of lemon butter angel hair and top it with whatever home made tomato sauce I happen to have lying around. I mean it's great and all but I feel like it's forever a work in progress...

Nice OP, I have to try the honey thing, I usually use strawberry jelly for that and want to try experimenting a bit more.

Whenever I'm cooking for a party I make big batches of barbacoa with chuck roasts in my slow cooker and then i put together stuff to make tacos.

I also always do friendsgiving with my friends and make a dry brined turkey (this year i spatchcocked it). Shit was off the chain.

Odd ways of eating everyday ordinary things.

I've had a lot of problems with eating, food sensitivities, allergies, chronic pain triggered (or worsened) by certain foods, etc. Eating has long since lost its appeal and for a number of years it was just a daily nuisance, something I did for mainly functional reasons. Sure, it was nice if it tasted good, but I was eating for nutrition.

I guess people thought it was strange when I'd take some tomato puree, add some salt, depending on my mood maybe chili pepper, basic, oregano, parsley. Then just heat it up and dip mozarella cheese in it, eating the resulting slowly softening flavored mixture.

Same with eggs. Same with ground turkey. Just cook it up, maybe lightly season it with something, and just eat it as is. Cauliflower crusted "pizza" is the only novel thing I really make here and there. Though i don't eat tomato anymore, so I'm slightly more fucked than I have been in the past. Too bad.

People though it was interesting that I didn't fuck around with some meal, or some complex dish, and quickly made everything from scratch to roughly the same bioavailable nutritional end as actually making something. After trying it they commented they'd never thought of doing such things.
